And what's happening in Sydney? After a quite cold week it seems like summer is finally arriving but as I had to realize, you never know what your gonna get here. I learned that you can never trus an Aussie when it comes to weather forecast and it is the only country I ever noticed to have the weather forecast for YESTERDAY in the newspapers... What can I say... ;o)
Surf wasn't great lately cause there is some kind of blue jellyfish invasion, urgh! Eventhough Kaz and the surfguys keep telling me that if you get stung by one it only hurts for half an hour I am not really keen on meeting one of those blue things in the water... And since waves were crappy, i was just lying at the beach sleeping...
On November 6th, the time stood still for 3 minutes (or so) - Melbourne Cup, a horserace I had never heared before. Of course we run to Laurence's pub right after school to place our bets. I was pondering about which horse looked most likable as some random guy told me to bet on number 6. Ok, I placed my 5$ and watched the race... it was over so fast that I didn't really see what horse won, not until that guy tapped me on the shoulder saying "you just won a hundred bucks!"... really?! yep, and really, I had actually bet on the winner and won 113.- ! =) It was a very funny evening, with lots of beer / wine, free chicken wings and me as a happy winner.
We went to see a very interesting art exhibit with school, called "Sculptures by the Sea". It's an outdoor exhibit that consists of about a hundred different sculptures scattered along the coastal walk from Bondi Beach to Tamarama Bay. I enjoyed it very much (not only because it gave us an afternoon off our stuffy class room) and can only recommend it.
X-mas decoration is up in all stores now which is kind of funny combined with the warm weather... And I finally succeeded in making plans which are hopefully not going to change anymore. I will probably be in Switzerland mid January till mid February and then go back to study in Melbourne. Keep your fingers crossed that everything will work out well! I am really excited to finally have found what I was looking for, speaking of various aspects.
