ai how time is running...

I just noticed that I haven't done a single post within 2009.... busy times.... so now it's time to play catch up and get things up to date again!

Since my visit in Switzerland in July 2009 I feel like I have woken up. Before I had been living in a kind of daze, doing my daily things, getting used to my new life, facing all those "bad energies" that had come with J's split up and that had had more impact on me than I had thought. I was a bit wary of going back home, fearing that I might start missing home a lot more and that it would get into my way of building new roots in Australia. But to the contrary, it was the best thing I could have done!

Seeing everyone again was fantastic, going to my "old" places, swimming in the lakes, the summer rain & thunderstorms, lots of great nights out with friends, my bday party, drinking wine and eating waaay too much, going to the mountains, welnessing in Vals and finally being able to show Jackson my world - my home, has truly lifted my spirits. And even though I will probably never get used to saying goodbye (even knowing I will be back - I just bloody hate goodbyes), I went back to my new home feeling more complete, more grounded, energized.

Me skipping 3 weeks of uni (because I did not want to miss the Rapperswiler Seenachtsfest) made the second semester of 2009 a bloody nightmare. So much to catch up, so many hours typing away and coming up with concepts for those never ending assignments. But like I said I felt like I woke up and I was energized and happy to get everything done that had to be done (even the excruciating process of applying for my spouse visa that gave me many sleepless nights). Finally things calmed down thremendously on Jackson's front and looking back, we now can live such a relaxed life compared to just one year ago. That shows that you should never underestimate the influence of bad energies even if they are not directed specifically to you. They are real energy vampires and can run you down horribly without you noticing in the moment.

The second semester went by in a blur and I found myself accepting the award of "most outstanding student in the Associate Degree Level" in my uni... sweet! =) And there were my parents, ready to get the campervan and explore Australia! First I showed them around Melbourne and as my friend Feli arrived end of November, we started our big adventure - driving almost 5000 km from Melbourne to Cairns with our campervan.... what a project! Dad managed to drive all the way (to the relief of myself and Feli) and we spent a great time mainly in the outdoors, marvelling at birds, wombats, kangoroos (how on earth do you spell that in English...) and many other typically Aussi things. I truly enjoyed this trip not only because I could spend so much time with my parents (with suprisingly little fights considering our living space of approximately 10m2 for 25 days!!) but also because I got to see so much more of Australia.

Now I am enjoying my semester break that will be over in a few weeks. One more year of JMC will get me my Bachelor degree and i am also starting a professional photography course in two weeks which I am very much looking forward to. And yes, I will try to post a bit more often this year as I have this feeling that it will be quite eventful.... ;o)
